The sound

Start with soul.
Follow your own direction.

Find a harmonic foundation before you build the rest of the beat. These chord progressions give you options for mellow R&B, jazz color, soulful grooves and darker trap-soul ideas. Choose a progression, add your bass and drums, and develop the arrangement around your own sound.

Your starting point

Over 40 progressions.

MPC, Scaler 2 and MIDI versions let you explore the harmony in the workflow you already use.

Your sound palette

One idea.
Different instruments.

MIDI lets you hear the same progression through electric piano, a synth, or another instrument you choose. Adjust the notes and rhythm to fit your drums, or perform the chords on MPC pads for your own feel.

Make the idea yours

  • Choose the progression that fits your mood.
  • Build your drums, bass and melody around the harmony.
  • Edit the MIDI to explore your own instruments, voicings and rhythms.

Your workflow

Play it.
Reshape it.
Build around it.

Explore the included MPC chords on your pads, or import the MIDI and choose your instrument. Start with the harmony, then make the performance and arrangement your own.

From a chord to a track

Use the collection as a musical foundation for your next session. Keep the progression, change the rhythm, transpose the idea, or develop a new melody over it.
